Connecting 110+ suppliers and platforms: how to build an independent MSP ecosystem
As an MSP, you stopped working with a single supplier long ago. You combine telephony services from Dstny or Gamma with Microsoft 365 licences via Pax8, internet services via RoutIT and hardware from Ingram Micro or ALSO. Each with its own portal, its own invoice structure and its own data format. At a certain point, separate portals and manual exports become impossible to keep up with. A central ecosystem connecting all your suppliers is then no longer a nice-to-have, but an operational necessity. This article explains how such an ecosystem works, how you connect suppliers and which criteria you, as an MSP, should weigh in that choice.
These are the key points
- MSPs work with dozens of suppliers on average, each with its own invoice structure and portal. Separate portals cause fragmentation, errors and wasted time.
- An ecosystem connects all your suppliers via API or CSV to one central platform, so purchasing data arrives automatically.
- API integrations ensure data arrives with us straight from your supplier or platform. But we process a CSV file containing the relevant data with equal ease..
- A good platform is supplier-agnostic: you choose your suppliers, not the platform.
- ResalePartners supports more than 110 suppliers and platforms through its ecosystem. If your supplier is missing, they are happy to add it.
- Supplier independence is strategically urgent in 2026 due to MSP consolidation.

Expert insight
The distinction between an ecosystem and a collection of integrations is crucial. A collection of integrations solves the manual work. An ecosystem also delivers supplier independence: you choose which suppliers you use, not the platform. That freedom is strategic. If tomorrow you want to add a new telecom supplier or replace an existing one, you should be able to do so without redesigning your entire purchasing process. That is a scalable MSP operation.

Four criteria for a good supplier platform for MSPs
Not every integration platform is suited to the MSP context. These are the four criteria to look out for.
- Breadth of the ecosystem. How many suppliers are already connected? The broader the ecosystem, the fewer bespoke integrations you have to build or buy yourself. Check specifically whether your telecom suppliers, distributors and software platforms are already available.
- Supplier agnosticism. Can you freely choose which suppliers you work with, or are you dependent on the suppliers the platform favours? An independent platform ensures you stay in control, even when you switch suppliers or add a new one.
- Scalability without reinstallation. Can you add new suppliers without having to redo your entire setup? A good platform scales with your growth strategy. When you make an acquisition and the supplier mix changes, you want to be able to implement that quickly.
- Data security and compliance. You work with sensitive customer data and financial information. ISO 27001 certification is the minimum standard. Also make sure data is stored within the EU and that you know who has access to what.
Supplier independence: why it matters in 2026
The MSP market is in flux. According to research by Hogenhouck, no fewer than 206 transactions took place in the Dutch MSP market from 2023 through to September 2025. That wave of consolidation continues into 2026. For growing MSPs, or MSPs being acquired or merging, this means supplier management must be flexible: able to take on new suppliers quickly, retain existing ones and avoid redesigning the purchasing process with every strategic change.
On top of that comes the Microsoft 365 phase-out in 2026. Several on-premise products reach end-of-life in October 2026. MSPs must migrate their customers to cloud solutions, which brings new licence structures and new supplier relationships. In that context, a flexible ecosystem that can quickly take on new Microsoft product lines without bespoke work is no minor matter.
Supplier independence is the guarantee that you stay in control. Not a platform that forces you towards specific suppliers. Not an integration that breaks when a supplier changes its API. But a stable, broad ecosystem that grows with your MSP. Want to find out how automated invoice processing works once your suppliers are connected? And how purchase control for MSPs completes the full picture?

Smart integrations
How do I connect my suppliers to the ResalePartners platform?
Suppliers are connected via an API integration or CSV import. With an API integration, the platform communicates directly with the supplier; data is retrieved automatically. With a CSV import, you upload an export file that is processed automatically. ResalePartners guides the technical setup of the integration.
What do I do if my supplier is not in the ecosystem?
ResalePartners is happy to add new suppliers. You discuss this in the demo, so you immediately understand what is realistic for your situation and which steps are needed to add it.
How many suppliers can I connect?
The ResalePartners ecosystem supports more than 110 suppliers and platforms. You are not limited to a fixed set. As your MSP grows and you add new suppliers, the ecosystem expands with you.
How do I avoid vendor lock-in through the platform?
ResalePartners works supplier-agnostically: you choose your suppliers, the platform adapts. You are not dependent on the suppliers ResalePartners favours. When you switch suppliers or add a new one, you do not have to redesign your purchasing process.
How long does connecting suppliers take?
A full implementation, including connecting multiple suppliers and setting up customer profiles, takes 3 to 6 months on average. The fastest route is to start with the largest supplier and the most important customer group, then expand step by step.
Is the platform secure for sensitive purchasing data?
ResalePartners is Kiwa ISO 27001 certified, the recognised international standard for information security. Data is stored within the EU and strict access controls and audit logs are available.
